The most famous and best-known Polish sailing vessel s/v DAR POMORZA, one of the most distinguishable three-masters in the world, will celebrate her hundredth birthday in autumn 2009. The White Frigate, as the ship is often called, incorporates the history and is the symbol of Polish navigation, the cradle of a dozen or so thousand Polish naval and merchant marine officers. To visit the frigate is an obligatory and respectable event for tourists and official delegations visiting Gdynia. This year, the birthday jubilee of the White Frigate will be of particular importance and will have an audible setting. The main festivities of the hundredth birthday of 'Dar Pomorza' are planned on October 10th 2009 by the shipowner of the vessel, the Central Marine Museum in Gdańsk.
On this day, at the Pomorskie embankment in Gdynia, where 'Dar Pomorza' is always moored, a symbolic launching of the vessel for the second century of her existence, along with a renewal of her christening is to be performed.
For many years, between 1929 until 1982, the State Marine School in Gdynia was the ship-owner of 'Dar Pomorza', afterwards it was the Marine Academy in Gdynia.

Z okazji setnych urodzin Daru Pomorza i dla uczczenia tej doniosłej uroczystości, pomorscy krótkofalowcy organizują kilkudniową aktywność radiową właśnie z pokładu białej fregaty zacumowanej w Gdyni. Stacja okolicznościowa SN100DP czynna będzie w dniach od 8 do 11 października 2009 roku w godzinach od 7:00 do 19:00 czasu UTC.
Organizatorem tego krótkofalarskiego wydarzenia jest Roman SQ2RH we współpracy z Centralnym Muzeum Morskim w Gdańsku i Morskim Klubem Łączności SP2ZIE "Szkuner" działającym przy Akademii Morskiej w Gdyni.

On behalf of the 100th Birthday Jubilee of 'Dar Pomorza' and in order to commemorate this day, radio amateurs from the Tri-City region are organizing an activity on ham bands lasting several days, right from the deck of the White Frigate moored in Gdynia. A special-event station SN100DP will be activated from October 8th until 11th, 2009 between 7:00 to 19:00 UTC.
This event will be organized by Roman SQ2RH, who co-operates with the Central Marine Museum in Gdańsk and the Marine Communications Club SP2ZIE "Szkuner" acting at the Marine Academy in Gdynia.

Centralne Muzeum Morskie w Gdańsku od roku 1982 jest armatorem Daru Pomorza, a żaglowiec obecnie ma status pływającego muzeum.

Since 1982, the Central Marine Museum in Gdańsk is the shipowner of 'Dar Pomorza' and the sailing-ship has presently the status of a sailing museum.

Impreza ma mieć charakter ponad klubowy, gdyż do współpracy planujemy zaprosić inne zaprzyjaźnione pomorskie kluby krótkofalarskie oraz indywidualnych krótkofalowców zrzeszonych przy Pomorskim Oddziale Terenowym nr 09 Polskiego Związku Krótkofalowców.

The radio activity is to have an inter-club character, as we intend to invite other friendly Pomeranian amateur radio clubs, as well as individual hams from the Pomeranian Section #9 of PZK, the Polish Amateur Radio Society.
